Mostly easy, but very wet and muddy, walk going by Wanborough Church and Watts Gallery, then along the river Wey to Godalming. On a walkover today (3 Feb) I just about kept my feet dry but it was close - and more rain is expected. Late in the walk the path is blocked by a fallen tree (already there 15 months ago), and some clambering is required to get round it.
Late morning break at the Watts Gallery cafe from where there is an hourly bus service to Guildford.
Lunch at the Withies Inn, Compton, from where there is also an hourly bus service to Guildford. I have provisionally booked a table for six. Email me by Wednesday 11th if you want a pub lunch - it’s first come first served. Picnickers can use the pub garden (provided they buy a drink).
Take the train from Waterloo at 9.30, changing at Guildford, arriving at Wanborough at 10.29. There is a frequent direct service back from Godalming to Waterloo. Buy a cheap day return to Wanborough plus a single from Godalming to Guildford.

Please note that despite any Ramblers Association literature you may have read you are entirely responsible for your own safety. I will do my best to make the walk a pleasant one, but I take no legal responsibility whatever.
