The walk starts at Stoke Newington Station for Abney Park Cemetery and follows a chain of green spaces and waterways down to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park near Mile End. Abney Park and Tower Hamlets are both nature reserves, and are two of the most atmospheric of London's 'Magnificent Seven' cemeteries. Paths are mostly good and fairly clear, but be prepared for some mud. Pace will be moderate overall, but we will slow down to meander and look at monuments in the cemeteries. Toilets at Springfield Park after about an hour, and at lunch stop in the Olympic Park. Advisable to use loos in Liverpool Street station before boarding train.
Lunch: Cafe (due to open on 28 March) and picnic in Olympic Park. Bring picnic and use cafe for drinks.
Train: Overground from London Liverpool Street 10:00; arr. Stoke Newington 10:13. Return by Underground from Mile End Station.
