Meet Point: Near the information desk/information electronic board at Piccadilly Station.   Leader will have a Manchester Weekend Walkers sign

Transport to Walk Start: Any trains or trams etc. to Manchester Piccadilly

Suggested Ticket: Any means of travel to Central Manchester

Walk Start: Manchester Piccadilly at 09:30

Waypoints: Mayfield Park, Medlock River, Ashton Canal, New Islington Marina, Rochdale Canal, Canal Street, Sackville Gardens, Vimto Park & Garden, UMIST, Medlock River, Symphony Park/ Circle Square (old BBC site),  Deansgate Train Station, National Trust - Castlefield Viaduct , Mamucium Roman Fort, Castlefield Bowl, Castle Wharf, Deansgate Square, Home, Rochdale Canal, Bridgewater Hall. 

Return Services: Any services from Central Manchester.

Extra: Walk is timed to finish at the Britons Protection pub, which is the site of the Manchester Weekend Walkers AGM.  Toilets at Mayfield Park and NT - Castlefield Viaduct. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).

An urban canal, river & country/public parks' walk, around central city centre of Manchester

The walk will be undertaken at a steady pace.  The route is mainly flat with undulating/uneven/muddy sections and there will be descent and ascents by steps along the route.

No lunch break but we will have a short snack breaks during the walk

Important: To ensure that we arrive on time for the AGM, the walk will start promptly -  we cannot delay the walk start time for late comers, to ensure that we leave enough time to complete the walk by 1pm. 

If you do not want to visit the pub for an optional drink before the AGM, or attend the AGM and need directions on how to return to Piccadilly train station as it is a linear Walk, the walk leader will assist you with directions
