Overview

From the NT car park at Margery Wood heading North, crossing Walton Heath golf course to Mere Pond at half way point in Walton-On-The-Hill. Then heading back across Banstead Heath, past the Sportsman Pub and returning to the car park. The route is mainly on woodland paths and open Common paths with a small amount of country lanes. The Dorking Road (B2032) is crossed twice and can be busy. Walking poles will be helpful if still muddy. Bring snacks and drinks although the cafe near the Mere Pond should be open for those who want to buy refreshments.
