Join us for a walk around the perimeter of the Surrey town of Oxted, on which, at either end, we will pause by the homes of the town's most notable residents.
We will start with a challenging circuit around the grounds of Titsey Place, the former home of the Tudor financier Sir Thomas Gresham, whose emblem of a golden grasshopper adorns the Royal Exchange and is such a feature of the local area. We will then head south over Limpsfield Common to Oxted Mill and onto The Haycutter for lunch.
After lunch we will visit the childhood home of the current Prime Minister, before heading back north into the town via Master Park and St Mary's Church to our start point in Park Road.
There is one steep hill approx 1 mile into the walk - this can be avoided if you are prepared to wait 20 mins for the group to complete a short circuit of the Titsey estate: this will avoid 100m of ascent and change the grading of the walk from Moderate to Leisurely
