Three key rivers, the Bradford, Lathkill and Wye: on this linear walk you will see them all. Our route starts in Middleton by Youlgreave and takes us via Bradford and Alport. From there we wend our way to Bakewell and should, weather permitting, have good views of the Wye Valley, Manners Wood and Haddon Hall.
Please ensure you have good quantities of food and drink. Stout footwear is a must and please also bring your completed ICE card. Rainwear is also advisable and walking poles will be advantageous.
Transport option 1. Cheaper option.
Park at Middleton by Youlgreave Square for 1030 start. Return from Bakewell Square or Matlock Street on Andrews 172 at 1440.
There may be time for refreshments before catching the bus.
Transport option 2.
Park in Bakewell (charges apply) and catch Andrews 172 from Bakewell Square or Matlock Street at 1000, arriving at Middleton at 1020. The walk will start after the arrival of the bus.
Street parking in the Square, Middleton by Youlgreave. Meet at 10.30. You may prefer to park at the end point in Bakewell and travel to Middleton by bus. The 172 bus leaves at 10.00 from Bakewell Square in Bakewell. (See transport options above.)
You can travel back to Middleton on the 172 bus from the Square. A bus leaves at 14.40.
