Walking in the Derbyshire Dales
Welcome to the Derbyshire Dales group. Formed in 1972, our group is located in the White Peak, around Matlock and Bakewell. We organise walks over a wide area of Derbyshire and the Peak District.
Our walks range from 4 mile very leisurely to 12+ mile strenuous walks. We provide seven walks on five days weekly and welcome prospective new members, as well from Ramblers from other groups and anyone visiting the area.
We are very active with footpaths, including maintenance and regular surveys of hundreds of local paths, working closely with Derbyshire County Council and other organisations.
Our membership is around 550, including almost 100 volunteer walks leaders.
Our website contains extensive information on our walks, our footpath work, how to join and an archive of our Footprints magazine, also guidance on how to get started if you are new to walking.
