Overview

A downland walk following the Monarch's Way from Mile Oak, over Southwick Hill to Beeding Hill. We then join the South Downs Way past Truleigh Hill Youth Hostel to Perching Hill then down the valley to the bottom of Summers Deane and back to Mile Oak.

Parts of the route will be muddy and chalk paths could be slippery so footwear with a good grip is essential, walking poles are recommended. There is a café in the Mile Oak Farm shop at the beginning or end but please bring a drink and a picnic lunch.

The top of Mile Oak Road, just beyond the bridge under the A27, by the entrance to Mile oak Farm. Drivers should park along Mile Oak Road. The start is only a short walk from the number 1 bus route.
