A great short walk on the Yorkshire Wolds offering fine views over the Vale of York. There will be steep ascents and descents on this walk and full use is made of public footpaths, permissive paths and access land. Even though this is a short walk there is over 1000ft of ascent and descent, a good workout before the AGM and also an opportunity to talk informally to current committee members
From the village hall we will leave the village on a steep uphill on the Chalkland Way towards Great Givendale. High above the village we take the permissive path to Bishop Wilton Wold before crossing the road and heading to Deep Dale. Enjoying fine views over Deep Dale we walk on rough paths on access land at Cot Nab, before a steep climb out of Deep Dale up to Bishop Wilton Wold before the descent back down Worsen Dale. Then a descent using a minor road and back to the start point.
Everyone is welcome on the walk whether you are attending the AGM or not. For those not attending the AGM there is an honesty box for car parking charges at the village hall.
There is a lunch provided for Members who have pre-booked at 1pm prior to the AGM. We expect to return to the village hall about 12.45pm
