Overview

Join us on a circular walk starting from the Hole of Horcum and walking on a mixture of forest tracks and open moorland through Dalby Forest.

A classic walk on the North Yorkshire Moors offering some great views (on a clear day!) and relatively easy walking, although there are of course some ascents and descents.

Leaving the car park at the Hole of Horcum the route taken is along the Old Wife's Way and along the edge of the forest to Staindale Lake for our coffee stop. From Staindale Lake we head through the forest to the Crosscliffe viewing point and our lunch stop. After a short descent we cross Thompson's Rigg towards Blakey Topping and then to Malo Cross. The final ascent will be up to Saltergate Brow, offering far ranging views over the Moors, and back to our start point.
