Overview

This is a joint walk of different levels led by Robina Reed and Sandra Bogle.   Everyone meets  at Dean Estate car park at 1000 to share new year greetings with refreshment and shortbread.  Robina will then lead a gentle walk of around 3 miles around the Dean Estate with a number of short uphill stretches, which will be taken at a gentle pace.   There will be an opportunity of tea and cake in the Dean cafe after the walk.   Sandra will lead her group around the outskirts of the estate, involving several uphill stretches, before  descending through the woods to cross the Bringan Ford bridge.   Crossing several stiles, fields and forest we emerge at Craufurdland Bridge.  Continue through Craufurdland Estate past the Lairds Table and Craufurdland Castle before walking back to Dean Castle Estate and the cafe for further refreshments, if wished.   This will be  approximately 6.5 miles / grade moderate
