We are the Tavistock Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is the same walk that was underutilised in May!
Starting from Swallerton Gate we head to Bonehill Rocks and continue south via Top and Pil tors to just before the Cold East Cross car park. Here we head north to Rippon Tor and then on good green tracks to Saddle Tor, Haytor Rocks and Holwell Tor. Crossing Blackhill we join the tramway below Greator Rocks before heading up a steep hill to pass under Hound Tor back to the start.
This is a moderate, attractive walk visiting some of the best known Dartmoor tors. Few steepm hills before the last stretch.
Parking at Swallerton Gate car park. If coming from Tavistock ask leader about potential lifts.
