Walk a section of The Archangel's Way from Brentor to Lydford visiting St. Michael de la Rupe church on Brentor, Christchurch at North Brentor finishing at St. Petrock's in Lydford. TAW stamps are available in each of the churches for your The Archangel's Way passport (if you do not already have one , passports will be available on the day). You will walk along the pilgrimage route to then ascend Gibbett Hill before taking the Lyd Link path through Lydford Gorge (free entry courtesy of the National Trust) to end in Lydford village. 7.5 miles over grassy and moorland tracks with some lanes and the steps and ups and downs of the Lydford Gorge path. After the walk , there will Morris Dancing and Jim Causley will perform his Archangel's Way song at the Castle Inn and tea and cakes will be available in the Nicholls Hall. A day of celebration to mark the anniversary of The Archangel's Way Pilgrimage route that runs from Brentor to Chagford.
The walk starts from Brentor car park (free), below the church, where Millie's Bakes mobile cafe will be present supplying bacon butties and coffee (payable on the day). It is a linear walk ending in Lydford and so transport will be needed to get to the start - it is proposed that some forms of transport will be available to take walkers from Lydford to Brentor around 10am.
Please book into the walk (essential for transport) by text or email to Paul. If you are able to offer transport yourself then please advise this too.
