Overview

From Sourton we will follow the Dartmoor Way before descending into Meldon Quarry. A steady climb alongside Red-e-ven brook follows up to Black Down. One of the old tracks then takes us back across the Brook (wading stones) to cross Okehampton Common on our way to Black Tor. Steeply down to Black a Tor Copse then alongside the West Okement River to Vellake Corner. A cheeky nip up the other side of the valley will take us to Sourton Tor before the short downhill stretch back past the church where cream teas await in the village hall.
