Overview

Starting in the centre of Bere Alston we head north, crossing the only stile on the walk and pass through farmland with great views of the moor over the Tavy valley and Buckland Abbey estate. We cross the two main roads out of the peninsula and immediately encounter great views of the Tamar valley and Calstock. We head down towards the river along some quiet roads before entering paths leading down to the riverside at Tuckermarsh Quay before ascending almost continuously through a sunken lane and then through fields back to the village. One short steep descent into the track leading to the Quay and two short sharp ascents and one longer one. May be slippery on the descent if this weather ever breaks. We will pause for a break and toilets are available in the village at the end of the walk.
