A pleasant, varied walk starting from the village of Chawton. A bit further afield but easy to get to. We'll walk through open fields, farmland, woods and along the now dismantled Meon Valley railway. The walk takes us through the pretty village of Upper Farringdon with its old church and Yew tree, and part of the Chawton estate. There will be a refreshment break at some point.

There are a few ups and downs and some steepish steps down to and up from the main road but otherwise flat. Some minor road walking and possibly mud in places depending on the weather. There may be livestock in some of the fields, in which case dogs must be on leads. Pub and cafe at the start/end point and plenty of places for those wishing to picnic.
Meet in the Chawton village car-park. Parking here or along the road towards Chawton House. From Guildford take the Hog's Back, Farnham Bypass, A31 Alton Road and then the 1st exit at the Chawton roundabout (ie into Winchester Road) which leads straight to the village and the car-park.
