Overview

We will assemble at Beacon Hill Car park and then walk eastwards to Old Burghclere, turning sharp right after the church. We will then walk steadily south passing Lime Kiln Cottages along the track of the old railway down as far as the path junction  of the Wayfarers Way and small tunnel under the busy A34. Fortunately we will then strike east again through the combe rising upwards towards Ladle Hill fort  and then plunging down due north along the long track to the Sydmonton Rd. Finally we will walk carefully due west c.750m along this narrow road back to Old Burghclere and across the fields to the car park.

The climb upwards on the wayfarers Walk is about 220 metres over 1.5 km  so not too difficult and the northerly track down hill  is similar gradient. If you would like to join this walk please book online by 6pm on 30th March.
