We take the route from Mardale Head that climbs to Kidsty Pike. As we reach Kidsey Howes, the path changes from wet boggy marshland to a stoney scramble. As we reach the top of Kidsty Pike at the High Street Roman Road we take the path to High Raise, Raven Crag and Wether Hill. Ullswater appears in front as we find a path decending Bampton Common. We cross open moorland and pass The Forces Waterfalls, that take us back to Haweswater Reservoir. From here we follow the edge of Haweswater Reservoir to Whelter Knotts, before descending back to Mardale Head.
Be prepred for some scrambling up the rocky channels of Kidsty Howes on the way up to Kidsty Pike. We will take this accent slowly, stopping frequently, to take in the views across Haweswater.
There are areas of the walk with boggy sections.
