We are the Livingston Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Penicuik circular - starting at Tesco and heading into the Penicuik Estate via Silverburn and passing Knightslaw Tower and the House. Through countryside, beside burns, mixed woodland and open grounds of the estate. Note, Penicuik House not currently open.The terrain is tarmac paths, earth paths and tracks plus some road walking. Narrow sloping train in some woodland areas where poles would be useful.
On route back through Penicuik we can stop at the Community cafe for refreshments.
Toilets are in Tesco Supermarket at the start of the walk.
Good views across to the Pentlands throughout the walk.
Meeting at Livingston North Railway station, South side at 9am for car sharing
