Overview

Important Note: Pre-booking required by latest 7pm the day before.

Meet at Pirbright Village Green Duckpond, just a few yards south from the public car park (postcode GU24 0JE, what3words: bump.admits.garage). Or earlier if you’d like to join the walk leaders in the Yurt Cafe, part of the Cricketer’s pub opposite the duckpond, for breakfast or coffee.

We walk off at 10.00 am sharp for an interesting and varied walk at moderate pace taking in Pirbright Common, an opportunity for a mid morning coffee break near Fox Corner, before picking up part of the Fox Way. Then crossing Stanford Common, skirting the world renowned Pirbright Institute, for a pub lunch at the Royal Oak.

After lunch we head south west near Stanford Brook and Henley Lake before turning north, skirting the open common near Pirbright ranges, making our way back through heath and farmland to Pirbright village with a short exploratory pause to remember a great man, and then the Green and the cars.
