Join us for a short wander to work up an appetite for Christmas Lunch.
The walk will take us from Uddingston to Blantyre via Redlees Urban Park. From Uddingston Station we follow the cycle path towards Redlees. The park is natural woodland in a former quarry and is the site of WW2 gun emplacements. The next section is through Priory Plantation with a brief view of Bothwell Castle on the other side of the River Clyde and then up to the venue to enjoy Christmas lunch.
The walk is on a mix of paths - tarmac, gravel, woodland paths and grass. Following the recent wet weather parts of the paths are wet and muddy with leaf mulch. It is an undulating walk with a couple of short ascents.
There will be a short snack stop with the option to explore the WW2 gun emplacements after around 1 mile.
You may wish to take a change of shoes for the lunch.
There are no toilets on route but there is lots of cover.
