A challenging “off the beaten track” hike across Rannoch Moor. The walk is split into three distinct sections – a forestry track from the station, then a long, boggy middle section on a faint path (pylons help with navigation) above Loch Laidon and finally about 7kms on a good vehicle track to the Kingshouse Hotel. From Kingshouse it’s just over a kilometre along the West Highland Way to the bus stop at the White Corries. There are several burns to cross, stiles, it’s likely to be wet and muddy, and midges. Hopefully all worth it for a unique wilderness experience!
The aim is to arrive back at the White Corries (Glencoe Mountain Resort) bus stop in time to catch the city link bus at 19.01, arriving Glasgow at 21.16.
Essential to book a seat well in advance. We may have time for refreshments at the White Corries Cafe.
Be prepared for all weathers and very boggy conditions. Bring midge repellent, plenty of liquids, picnic lunch, snacks and something to eat at the end of the walk or for the bus journey home.
Essential to book a seat on the city link bus leaving Glencoe (opposite Chairlift Road) at 19.01arriving Glasgow at 21.16.
