Richmond to Hanwell (replacement walk)

Moderate-paced 11 mile linear walk over fairly level terrain and no stiles. 

Drop-outs to Brentford, Royston Manor and Osterley Stations.

Route: Thames Path, Syon Park, Brentford, Grand Union Canal / River Brent with detour to Boston Manor, Elthorne Park, Osterley Park, Norwood Green, a further section of the Grand Union Canal past Three Bridges and Hanwell Locks and a further section of the River Brent.

Lunch stop: after 4 miles at Boston Manor Café.

Meet at Richmond Station (Zone 4) at 10.30.

Travel: District line/London Overground (Mildmay line) -  or National Rail from Waterloo).

Ticket/Fare: Oyster/Contactless/Freedom Pass.

Finish: Hanwell Station (Zone 4 - Elizabeth line).

:NOTE: This walk replaces the Haddenham to Aylesbury Vale Parkway walk which was reconnoitred on the 24th January and found to be severely flooded a quarter of the way through the walk, with a short section up to one's ankles in water and the path on the edge of a flooded field submerged for about 20 yards under water at least one foot deep. The flooding has also affected other paths in the area so, regretfully, that walk has had to be cancelled.
