Overview

The walk goes along the Ridgeway to Wayland's Smithy before going down to Whit Coombe. It then goes over Weathercock Hill to Ashdown House and back to the Ridgeway passing Alfred's Castle.

Park on the Ridgeway where is crosses the B4000. If coming from Lambourn go past Ashdown house on the left and up the hill. At the top of the hill turn right on to the Ridgeway.
