Overview

From the start we cross the bridge over Trout Beck and then cross the A592 to pick up the rocky path over the Garburn Pass, just beyond the high point of the pass we turn left (south) and ascend to the first summit, Sallows, we then continue parallel to a wall south-westerley in an arc to the summit of Sour Howes, then we begin our long descent, first (over a couple of slightly tricky stiles) down to Dubbs Road, which we follow to Dubbs Reservoir and beyond onto a minor road, we follow the road downhill for a while before picking up another good path heading north, eventually we take a path that descends back to the church in Troutbeck.
