Overview

The Scone 200 is a circular walk created in 2005, which celebrates the moving of Scone from its original position near Scone Palace.  The walk starts from Scone Old Parish Church and ascends to McDuff's Monument and the Lynedoch Obelisk.  The walk then descends through Murrayshall Golf Course, then through farmland back to Scone.

Most of the walk is on good paths but some of the paths are muddy, have tree roots and there is a small rocky area ascending to McDuff's Monument.  Some people may find poles useful for some sections of this walk.  There is also a road to cross and part of the route follows a single track road.  The grade of the walk is leisurely to moderate.

Please bring a snack and drink which we could have at the Lynedoch Obelisk.  A short distance before the end of the walk there is a park which we could stop for a picnic lunch.  However, if people prefer there are numerous cafes in Scone itself for lunch.
