A hike along the Darent Valley Trail which for most part hugs the River Darent offering panoramic views through a mix of stunning landscapes of marshes, woodland, chalk grassland and fields.
There is minimal ascent on this walk as we will for the most part follow the valley trail with the option to ascend briefly above Lullingstone for views across the valley.
Our proposed lunch stop is at Lullingstone Country Park Cafe; seven miles into the walk. There will be an opportunity for a shorter comfort break/refreshment stop after South Darenth. Thereafter, we begin to enter built-up areas on the outskirts of Dartford albeit very much with the river. We part with the river in Dartford by taking wooden steps up a banking to the train station.
This is a full days walk at a brisk pace from start to finish of about three miles per hour.
No dogs.
Exit points - Otford, Shoreham, Eynsford and Farningham Road Railway Stations.
