Leaving the Pocket Park and Ride car park at the Shepherds Pub and Restaurant, we progress to the Grantham Canal. Following the canal towpath and Bassingfield Lane we head towards Gamston. From there our route follows Regatta Way to the Holme Pierrepont Country Park and National Watersports Centre. Leaving the rowing lake, we head toward Blotts Country Club and back to the starting point. The walk is entirely on made-up footpaths. There is some road walking on a quiet lane and footpaths. We need to cross the A52 twice at controlled crossings.

Drinks stop at Gamston where seating is available. Lunch at National Watersports Centre where there is ample seating and toilet facilities. Shepherds Pub and Restaurant offers from Tea/coffee to full menu if you wish to partake at the end of the walk.
Dogs Please bear in mind that some of this walk is along roads and that Ramblers protocol and Country Park Bye Laws state that dogs must be on a short lead and under control at all times.
Free Parking. Please use the rear part of the car park designated for the P and R not the pub car parking area.
Public Transport: Cotgrave Connection stops outside the Shepherds. Mainline service to Bingham stops at Holme House approx 5/10- minute walk to the starting point. Please check Sunday bus timings.
