We are the Rushcliffe Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Part of Sherwood Forest that you may not have seen, this walk begins with a Free Car Park that is easy to find at Ransom Wood (IF YOU FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS - FIND THE ROUNDABOUT AT THE TOP OF SOUTHWELL ROAD EAST, RAINWORTH. THEN TAKE THE EXIT TOWARDS NEWARK. PROCEED FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE AND THE SMALL CAR PARK IS ON YOUR LEFT). Venturing through forestry, we proceed toward Sherwood Pines and for coffee, some should be able to find a boulder to use as a seat. By lunchtime, we should reach a collection of boulders that will provide ample seating for all. We should then be returning to base camp for around 2.30pm.
