The walk passes through a mixture of woodland with occasional open views to the Galloway Hills and to the Doon Valley and returns walking alongside the River Doon.
The walk follows an old road initially tarmac, then unsurfaced into Craigengillan Estate. The return is made on footpaths and latterly the tarmac access road into the estate.
Unfortunately both coffee shops in Dalmellington close on Sundays!
Chris Lee, Walk Leader 07821 671443 will meet the group at Dalmellington.
There are no styles to cross. Care should be taken crossing public roads at the start and finish of the walk. Care should also be taken on the access road as it is used by vehicles involved with the estate. The verges are wide enough to avoid any vehicles. As some parts of the route are wet boots advisable , and poles if used.
