A lovely 9 mile circular walk starting from Oulton, near Leeds, heading along the Aire & Calder navigation to Skelton Country Park for coffee, and onwards to Temple Newsam for lunch before our return via quiet fields and green lanes to the start. Although 9 miles, this is a relatively easy walk. We will meander along a variety of well maintained and surfaced towpaths, footpaths and bridleways. Only 2/3 stiles, minimal ascent and virtually no road walking. Both the coffee and lunch stops have good facilities. Dogs welcome but must be kept on a short fixed lead. Toilets and refreshments are available at both the coffee and the lunch stop. No facilities at start/end of walk.
Meet in the free car park at the bottom of Fleet Lane, Oulton, Leeds LS26 9AJ. Please note this the nearest post code and is NOT ACCURATE. Use what3words or OS grid ref for accuracy. Do NOT turn off Fleet Lane near the marina, keep going and you will see the oil depot on your left and the car park on your right just after the bend.
