A varied section of the Chalkland Way in the Yorkshire Wolds, affording many fine views over the Vale of York. ADVANCE BOOKING ESSENTIAL through East Riding of Yorkshire Council (see details of how to book below)
From Millington Church there is a steep climb up Wan Dale to join the Chalkland Way at the top of the hill.. Then down Warren Dale to pass through the Buddhist Centre at Kilnwick Percy before crossing the golf course towards Pocklington. The route then continues through Pocklington, Grimthorpe and Brimlands Woods to Great Givendale, before a steep descent to Bishop Wilton.
2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Chalkland Way, a long distance walk in the Yorkshire Wolds devised by a Ramblers Member, Ray Wallis. To commemorate this occasion, East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers have decided to walk the whole trail on one day in four distinct stages.
All four stages are linear walks and in this stage we meet at Bishop Wilton Village Hall, and a coach will take us to the start point of the walk at Millington.
ADVANCE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL and numbers are limited. Bookings are being taken by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. You will need to state on which stage you would like to walk and provide your phone number and email address. Your place will be confirmed by email.
