A circular walk taking in four 'Ways' including Chalklands, Yorkshire Wolds, Minster and Wilberforce Way. Panoramic views can be enjoyed on clear days over the Vale of York.
The walk starts with a steep climb out of Millington and continues for a mile along a quiet road. We head through woods to Nunburnholme church, then onto the village green with benches for the elderly amongst us for lunch !
Our return walk offers the best views and an information board offering interesting reading on The Pilgrimage of Grace, a Yorkshire rebellion against Henry VIII in 1536.
The walk draws to a close with a steep but steady climb along the Chalklands Way and finishes retracing our steps down the steep hill we first climbed.
Plenty of parking next to Millington Church, also a great cafe and pub for refreshments at the end of the walk. Walking mostly on well established farm tracks and fields.
This walk is locally graded moderate plus.
