We’ll circle around the eastern side of the reserve to the Blakemoorgate miners cottages, before descending to Snailbeach via a section of the miner’s trail. Crowsnest Dingle is our route back up to the ridge. After a fairly long climb (it’s long rather than very steep), we’ll have lunch on Oak Hill near to Castle Ring Fort. The return leg is via Shepherd’s Rock and Black Ditch. Much of the walk has fabulous views so let’s hope skies are clear.
Some paths are rocky and uneven; (however we are not going along the very rocky path on the main ridge). This is a repeat of last year’s walk, but this time the miners cottages are scheduled to be open from 11am, so we can go inside.
If you would like to join this walk, please book a place with the leader, if you are unable to attend ,please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place. If you turn up without booking we may have to turn you away.
