Overview

Walk begins at "top" of Stocksbridge and heads up to Bolsterstone for coffee in this attractive and historic village. Route continues past Waldershaigh and on to Whitwell Moor and The Height trig point. Its an area of open heath, beautiful woods and great views over both Stocksbridge and Ewden Valley below. From there the route descends through woodland with lunch at a secluded spot, then quite steeply downhill to join Underbank  reservoir at the sailing club. Final stretch is round the reservoir to Midhopestones and then back along the Stocksbridge boundary walk, to finish at Unsliven Road bus stop.
