A circular 12 mile walk, starting at Berwick train station. We will walk through Arlington-Wilmington-Lullington and stopping at Alfriston for a picnic lunch where there are also pubs and cafes to choose from. We then carry on through Berwick-Alciston-Selmeston and return to Berwick train station. There is a steep climb at Wilmington. We pass by seven pretty churches, including St Michael and All Angels church in Berwick, which is well-known for its extensive 20th Century paintings by Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Quentin Bell.
Catch the 09:58 train from Brighton (towards Eastbourne) which arrives in Berwick at 10.23.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
