Churches ancient and modern, one ruinous and almost abandoned, the other the site of countless war graves, deaths due to an influenza outbreak during WW1 rather than conflict; a decaying nissen hut set amongst rolling downland with open views; big skies high above the Wylye Valley. The walk appears in John Price’s excellent book of walks entitled ‘Family Days in the Wylye Valley’. One climb of some 275 feet, easy to follow tracks and no stiles. Please text if you plan on joining the walk. Bring snack.
