An initial steep ascent quickly eases and the metalled track continues with a steady ascent to Haycombe Hill Farm. From here we follow rolling tracks to Little Sutton Wood. The return takes us up and down Long Bottom valley and down Tytherington Hill, to Tytherington (not surprisingly) perhaps!). Here there are lovely old buildings and an ancient church which hopefully will be open for a quick browse, before we continue along a pretty stream to the now disused romantic ruins of St Leonards Church on the outskirts of Sutton Veny, and back to our cars at the current Church. Expect hills but no stiles.
There may be livestock en route and sticks may be useful as it could be muddy. Please bring refreshments.
Although we will be back for lunch, please do bring your lunch and join me at St Leonards Church for a picnic (weather permitting). It is a few minutes, easily navigable, walk from here back to the cars, for anyone who is unable to stop.
