We are the Mid Wiltshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Heading east from Pewsham we walk towards Bowood, crossing the Wilts and Berks canal and a few fields. We ascend a short hill before passing into the Bowood Estate, following the edge of the golf course then head out over the historic parkland - there should be lovely views. Eventually picking up the old Chippenham to Calne disused railway line we continue towards Calne. There may be livestock in fields. There a few stiles. On reaching Calne we can stop (optional) for a snack or picnic before catching our bus back to Chippenham. Buses run every half hour on Sundays. There are a few pleasant cafes in Calne should you prefer an inside sit down lunch. Fare is £3 or free for bus pass holders. Card payment is accepted.
You must book with the leader in the week preceding. Text preferred. You are not confirmed until you get a reply. Dogs are at the leader's discretion.
Poles may/will be useful as the tracks can be slippery when wet. Look out for rabbit/ animal holes. Stout walking wear and appropriate clothes.
There will be one coffee/snack refreshment stop.
