Overview

The walk starts along the Kennet & Avon towpath initially and then heading away on tracks and field paths up to the Trig Point atop Oare Hill. The ascent is quite long and steep and a pole may be useful as it can be muddy.  We pass The Giant’s Grave, where on a clear day we will have good views across the Vale of Pewsey and the North Wessex Downs. There is a steep descent towards Oare, after which we will return via the tow path back to Pewsey Wharf. One refreshment stop.
