Overview

The final group walk before the Christmas break for the Ashford Branch of the Ramblers, see us venture to Tenterden, for a 10 mile exploration of the countryside to the north of the town, over the rolling meadows towards Biddenden.

Leaving from the KESR entrance, we proceed over the fields to Silcocks Farm, then following Readers Bridge Lane. From there, it is a bit more tarmac walking along Bugglesden Road, where we then turn towards the Biddenden Road, passing adjacent to Woodlands Park. Our route  then see us cross the track of the old dismantled railway, before reaching Biddenden.

At this halfway point of the walk, we then wander over the Recreation Ground, then onward to Goose Green. We pass various woodlands on our return leg, including Goldwell Wood & Gribble Wood, before heading along the valley and through Chennel Park back to Tenterden Station .

There will of course be the usual snack break, with the option of a pub stop at Biddenden in the Red Lion, whilst the Old Dairy Taproom, at the finish is very handy to raise a glass and wish each other a happy Christmas.
