Overview

We will head out on the Middlewood Way joining the Macclesfield Canal at Adlington Basin before starting the climb up on the North Cheshire Way and on to Bakenstonedale Moor. Link up with Gritstone Trail over Sponds Hill and past Bowstones. Through Lantern Wood to the Cage, returning to the Canal back to the Car Park.

Observations: A couple of road sections where care needed, a couple of tricky stiles and likely to be muddy in places but generally good paths/tracks on this delightfully varied walk with potentially good views!
