An old favourite walk in the lovely Wye Valley. Much of it is on old roads, which are packhorse trails really and these can be grassy, muddy and wet, or rubbly and rough or now tarmac. Nonetheless we know we are walking in the footsteps and hoofsteps of traders carrying supplies and minerals up and down the sides of the Wye valley. There are great views as we walk through pretty countryside with lots of birdsong especially in the woods.
Steep and rough in places, but generally straightforward.
Lunch stop is at the George Inn, St Briavels. Sandwich lunch can be eaten nearby.
Finish time is approximate.
