TISSINGTON

Starting at the Tissington Trail car park we follow footpaths broadly eastwards on typical limestone farmland, then northwards along the ridgeline parallel to Dovedale to reach Shining Tor then Milldale. From here we follow the river Dove through the wooded dale, pausing to take in Ilam Rock, Dove Holes, Reynards Cave & Natural Arch, and pass Tissington Spires to Lovers Leap, on good paths throughout. We leave the river at the famous stepping stones to ascend Thorpe Cloud then walk out through Lin Dale, passing the Rifle Range to join the Limestone Trail back to Tissington. This delightful walk is only graded 'Hard' due to the short ascent of Thorpe Cloud and is otherwise moderate in character. 1700 ft asc. Tel 07498917265. Sorry, no dogs due to local restrictions.
