Overview

Meeting outside the Millhouse pub we will go up though pretty woodland towards the Blaise estate, then on to explore the wetlands of Lawrence Weston moor and climb up Mount Skitham. We return for lunch at either St Marys Henbury for those with packed lunches, or else the Blaise Inn pub. The return in the afternoon is through Kings Weston Estate and some sweeping views of the river from Shirehampton golf course.

Meet outside the Millhouse Pub on corner of Shirehampton Road and Bellbarn Road for a 09.30 start.

Arriving: Car parking is available on-street in either Bell Barn Road or Sea Mills Lane. (Postcode BS9 2DS should take you close). There is public transport via train to Sea Mills a short walk away, or else various buses from the centre including the number 4 Citiline which stops just before Sea Mills Lane. 

There is one steep ascent at Mount Skitham, and it can get muddy at the top so please bring appropriate footwear for thick mud and walking poles, if it has been wet! Cattle present in some of the fields.
