An easy 8 mile circular walk which mainly follows the towpaths of the Grand Union Canal, its branches and the banks of its feeder reservoirs. No need to book.
Take the 9.39 train from Euston, arriving at Tring 10.21. Tring station has no toilets. Frequent trains back from Tring to Euston.
We will stop for lunch at Wilstone, about half way, where the Half Moon pub serves meals. I have provisionally booked a table for 6. If you want a pub lunch email me by 7 January at the latest. First come first served. There are benches nearby for picnickers.
There is a bus from Wilstone back to Tring at 12.15 and 14.15 if you want a shorter walk.
The walk is almost entirely flat, largely hard surfaces, no stiles, but a few muddy patches.
Please note that despite any Ramblers Association literature you may have read you are entirely responsible for your own safety. I will do my best to make the walk a pleasant one, but I take no legal responsibility whatever.
