Overview

NB: This walk replaces the published walk from Chop Gate.

It is a circular walk taking in Byland Abbey, Wass Moor, Snever Observatory, Scotch Corner memorial chapel and Olstead.

Conditions underfoot will be variable so expect some muddy areas. Walking will be on field and forest paths with two small sections of road walking.

Poles are advised for the muddy stretches and there will be a few ascents along the way.

Toilets are available at nearby Coxwold.

The total ascent for this walk is approx 1700' so the grading is classified as moderate+
