Overview

Parts of this route might be remembered from two walks  I lead during the year and some of it is different. The route includes quite long stretches of quiet road. As it is also Remembrance Day we will stop at a frequently passed memorial for our own act of remembrance.

Leaving the Falkland Cricket Club we will walk along Enborne Street and Cope Hall Lane before turning to cross  fields and the A34 and onwards to reach Church Lane, Enborne. We will then head into Hampstead Park and stop at the memorial to the 501st Parachute Regiment for a period of remembrance, hopefully at 11am.

After our stop we will cross Hampstead Park and after reaching the Hampstead Marshall crossroads we’ll continue up the quiet road to Holtwood. Here we will head along the road to Red Hill and on past Enborne Street Farm before taking a bridleway to Bourne Farm then continuing along the road to Wash Water and returning to the cars via footpaths and Enborne Street.
