Walk in Tameside - Two reservoirs, a canal and Moravian Settlement - Note 10:30am start time

A leisurely 5 mile urban walk starting from The Fairfield Arms, 92 Manchester Road, Audenshaw, M34 5GB.   This is a level walk on good paths (cycle track, unmade road, pavements and canal towpath).  There are no stiles on the route.

The walk will follow a figure of eight route. 

• The first loop will follow the Fallowfield loop cycle path past Wright Robinson College to the Gorton Reservoirs and then onto Debdale Park.  From there we will pass Fairfield Golf Course back close to the start.
• The second loop will include a short section on pavement to reach the Ashton Canal, then follow the canal towpath as far as Droylsden Marina.  From there we will take a route through Fairfield Moravian Settlement on our way back to the Fairfield Arms.

If travelling by car, parking is available at the pub. Please park at the back of the pub car park.

This walk is also accessible by public transport.  

• Train:  The Fairfield Arms is 5 mins walk from Fairfield Railway Station.  
• Bus:  The 219 bus between Piccadilly and Ashton passes in front of the pub.
• Tram:  Droylsden and Audenshaw tram stops are about 15mins walk from the start of this walk.
