We take the Allerdale path behind the hotel and climb up across Tongue Gill and on to Castle Crag. With all the climbing done we then descend through woods to the Derwent River and into Rosthwaite (toilets available). Crossing the river we follow the Cumbria Way as far as the Langstrath valley before heading back to Stonethwaite for refreshments and then return back to the hotel.
