Overview

We take the Allerdale path climbing up across Tongue Gill towards Castle Crag (final ascent to the top is optional!). With all the climbing done we then descend through woods to the Derwent River and into Rosthwaite (toilets available). Crossing the river we follow the Cumbrian way as far as the Langstrath valley before heading back to Stonethwaite for refreshments and then back to the hotel
